Job Description

• After a very successful 2024, looking for a new Regional Technical Engineering Director to join their team in Japan.
• Lead regional cross-functional engineering teams across software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, and service domains.
• Act as the technical liaison to Japanese OEMs (Nissan, Mitsubishi, Honda, etc.)
• Align regional operations with global strategy, working closely with HQ in the US.
• Oversee product development and maintenance from a high-level perspective
• Provide leadership to local Japanese teams
• Manage project budgets, risk mitigation, and stakeholder relationships
• Serve as a cultural and operational bridge between Japanese and Western teams.

Key Candidate Criteria

• Engineering degree (preferable in Software), experience in Audio industry is a plus
• 10+ years of experience leading cross-functional engineering projects in the automotive sector
• Deep technical expertise in one area (EE, SW, ME, SYS) and broad knowledge across systems (Amp HW, SW, transducers)
• Experience in budget management, risk mitigation, and financial oversight
• Background working in or with Western companies
• Fluent in English and Japanese
