1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has been working in South Africa for the past 15 years and his background is mostly within the banking and financial services sector. He started his career with XXXX as a Systems Engineer where he was mainly involved in customization, configuration, and development of their frontend systems for a home loans banking system. After that, he joined XXXX and worked as a Process Engineer/Business Analyst, defining business requirements, understanding user requirements, do business cases, test use cases, and coordinating between business and tech teams. Later on in his career, he switched to an IT project manager role for XXXX where he again defined scope of the projects, involved in lots of project details, and identify all dependencies. After that, he was a Lead Technology Partner for XXXX where he worked with core banking applications, owned products, and engaged between different teams including ones in India and South Africa; he ensured back then their onboarding process from the customer perspective, account maintenance, involved with new products either sales or cross selling. Back then, he has a team of about 20 people directly reporting under him, he’s directly involved in the vendor management of the procurement team, offshore teams, and was also responsible for defining their tasks, guiding them with technological tools, and such. His last role was with XXXX as the Director of Projects, which was his own company, he was mainly involved there in different sectors such as construction, mining, logistics, and related ones; their core business was basically installation of fiber and cables, connecting internet areas, and such.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be being adaptable and flexible with new environment and organizations; he has held higher positions and communicate with C-level executives as well, so he can join as a Project/Program Manager and then grow his position in the same organization. He also was involved in lots of projects so he’s familiar with the tasks and responsibilities of handling a project and team members. Apart from that, he has experience in business analysis and different tools/technologies used in a technical perspective.
