1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has over 11 years of experience in the IT industry, with 5+ years focuses on cybersecurity; also specialized in system engineering and cybersecurity. He is currently with GAC Logistics in Dubai as a Security Analyst where he handles internal testing, harden the system, and maintain tools used in patching-related jobs, work on open-source projects, and basically maintaining the whole infrastructure with more than 8000 endpoints and 226 servers. He also has previously held roles involving penetration testing, system hardening, and endpoint protection. Before this, he was with Arimac Digital as a Senior System Security Engineer where he had to cover mostly system security engineer stuff while maintaining the infrastructure, servers, and process systems security related tasks as well; he also conducted vulnerability assessments on that company, mainly worked on internal networking, web application, and such. Previously, he was doing system engineering, IT support, and started as a Software Developer as well.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be working in the tech especially in the cybersecurity space. He also has strong problem-solving skills and deep analysis skills. Overall, he has a solid 5-6 years of experience in pentesting alone and more than 8 years in cybersecurity since he started his career in this field.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
Has more than 8 years in cybersecurity and 6 years in penetration testing; he has hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment and patch management using tools like Qualys, Nessus, Acunetix, and Burp Suite. While his core focus has been on web application security and system-level hardening, he also has exposure to API testing and knowledge of network-level attacks through his past roles in network engineering. He is also familiar with both offensive (Red Team) and defensive (Blue Team) practices, having worked on penetration testing as well as SIEM/MDR/EDR monitoring and incident response. He is experienced with tools such as Metasploit, Nmap, Linux kernel-level utilities, and scripting in PowerShell, Bash, and Python for automation and exploitation. He has also worked with Cloudflare WAF, endpoint detection tools, and PAM solutions like BeyondTrust. His professional background includes experience in logistics and shipping sector, and earlier involvement in financial and banking environments during his roles in Sri Lanka.
