1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He is living in France for many years now and has been working with XXXX for the last 12+ years. Currently, he is an Acting Principal Engineer/Technical Lead for them and his basic role is to bridge the gap between their senior system architects and implementation team. They have several teams working on a big product, he’s taking the ownership of some flagship projects as well and is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of those projects; he’s involved from the planning, designing, also in the development and implementation side. He is also working with a team that is doing API management for all the departments of a big company, so they are providing the API layers, manage that company’s quota, and everything; on top of that, they also have a Google product “Apigee” that they use along other gateways, he was the one that opened up that topic for their exploration and up to this day, they’re still using it along with MicroGateway which is another powerful product for deploying Apigee services on premise. The project he’s currently working on is an API release automation platform where they need to publish it to different catalogues, tech stacks, and aims to reduce the process from 2 months’ time to about 2-3 days only. He’s also contributing to other projects and teams as a Principal Engineer, they work on an Agile train, and most of their clients/works are within the travel sector including airlines, airports, travel agencies, and such; one of their biggest product is the Global Distribution System which is used for reservation, booking, and searching of flights. On the distribution side, they work with hospitality mainly.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill and expertise would be anything from the design perspective; he’s technically strong to create good designs and is also a good developer himself since he’s involved with hands-on development and leading the team as well. He is also great in bridging the gap between their system architects, head/top management, to high-level and low-level designs; is part of the core team which assesses all incoming requests and help resolve them as well. He has a diverse portfolio in terms of tech stack, he has been into cloud technologies, toolchain, and rates himself a 7 out of 10 in that; for Java technologies and Jenkins pipeline/CICD, can rate as 10, and on the architecture side of things, can rate himself 8 out of 10.
