1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has been living in Japan for about 16 years now and has experience working with lots of Japanese OEMs; has been in the automotive industry for the whole of his career. He’s currently the Director of Engineering for XXXX where they create products for EVs such as wireless power transfers, and such. Previously, he was with XXXX as an R&D Operations Manager where he was responsible for the team who was developing an ultrasonic sensors system, radar system, and purely ADAS products. He also worked with XXXX as a Senior Manager, Project Management where he supported Honda programs from early development through SOP, he led an 8-member team across Japan and China for that role. Previously to that, he was working with XXXX, both in Japan and France, as a Technical Project Manager mostly for power brake and sensor related programs; he worked there again for Japanese OEMs and had to coordinate with France, Germany, and Japan teams to align. He started off with more technical-related roles including System Engineer for wiper systems at XXXX, Design Engineer for brake systems with XXXX, and VR Department Manager for XXXX.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be managing teams, resolving complicated issues, and putting everything back on track if projects are going sideways or at risk. He’s great facing customers to align requirements, expectation, and communication as well; on top of that, he’s good with building relationships with their customers. He also would lean now towards strategical thinking for the companies he will be joining.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
Has 10+ years of experience in leading engineering projects and leading cross-functional teams across hardware, software, system, and validation. He was also the one handling the communication with overseas offices in China, India, and Germany. Most of the projects he has been involved with are wireless power transfers, ADAS, and power braking systems for different OEMs such as Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and such. As a director and leader, he has great skills in budget management, risk mitigation, and financial oversight as well; strong with the Japan market and industry since he has been working there for the past 10+ years.
