1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He started his career with a small business called XXXX where he handled firewalls, servers as a security engineer, and also handled lots of configurations back then. Afterward, he joined XXXX as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Agent where he did blue teaming for them, try to infiltrate their systems, and conducted security threat event monitoring as well. During that time, he also transitioned from L1 to L2 and got promoted to CTI; also he did lots of certifications including OSCP, Cybereason certifications, and such. He joined XXXX later on as a Security Consultant where he used to do trainings in Black Hat, set up different labs, and help students assess web applications for vulnerabilities. He also conducted vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across various systems and projects. After that, he worked with XXXX in Saudi Arabia as a Senior Associate, he worked there contractually as a cybersecurity professional where he worked on cybersecurity measures for government, identified vulnerabilities for them, and increased overall project delivery efficiency. He is now working with a Singapore company called XXXX as a Senior Security Consultant where they work on different clients in various sectors.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be threat hunting, red teaming, web application pentesting, and firewalls as well. On top of that, he has understanding of blue team concepts as well and can help set up few software for assessment and testing; he’s knowledgeable starting from the attack phase, how attacker starts, behaviour of the web application, and such.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
Has been in the cybersecurity penetration testing for about 5-6 years now, has been doing this since he started his career. Also has expertise with both red team and blue team concepts; can rate himself a 4.9 out of 5 in terms of these areas since he considers himself precise and keen with details especially when reporting it to higher management. For the tools, he’s mainly using BurpSuite, Nmap, and Metasploit for web applications but depending on the requirements of the system, he’s flexible with the tools and has a diverse tech stack; he has also used Java to penetrate some specific web applications. He has worked in different industries as well including government, chemical, banking, oil and gas, education, and some OEMs as well.
