1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He studied Computer Science so he started off his career with a programming job with XXXX where he built applications for their advertisement display mostly on websites and some mobile browser. After some time, he moved to his next position which is with XXXX where he developed his interest for combination of technical skills and client-facing skills since he was the only one in the team in Hong Kong back then; then he transitioned to his next role for the same company as an Operations Manager where he founded the presales and professional services team during that time for the APAC region. Aside from purely building applications, he also was responsible back then from sourcing, lead generation, all the way to closing and onboarding of customers. He was also hands-on in overseeing the whole process of sales cycle; during that time, he also acquired his understanding in basic SaaS company architecture which he carried to his current job with XXXX. He started with them as a Solutions Engineer focused mostly on solutions part of things, getting requirements from clients, delivering demos/POCs, writing scripts to facilitate technical integration demos, and such. Since they have a small number of technical people in HK, he frequently gets pulled into other activities outside of solutions; as a Solutions Engineer Lead, he is currently handling about 4 people while still being hands-on technical.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be his ability to communicate with clients and internal technical stakeholders; he is comfortable having technical discussions with their engineers as well and relay it in high-level with marketing, R&D, and others. Apart from that, he has great skills in juggling client-facing and technical works and would like to continue his career in that way; being able to manage/lead people but at the same time, get his hands dirty with coding and technical stuff. Currently, he is spending more time refining solutions that exist with their customers/clients, mainly video conferencing/platform and infrastructure solutions.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
He has been involved with project management/coordination roles for the past few years; having been involved in the development up to delivery of their solutions so he’s well-versed to take up similar roles with both management, technical, and client-facing components. Industry-wise, they have served different clients including higher education, enterprise business, energy, electric, telecoms, and manufacturing as well. His specialty in terms of cloud would be AWS but there would be no problem learning and keeping up with Azure as well if needed.
