  1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
    He has a quite extensive experience in project management. He grew up in France and started working in a Telco industry. After 10 years, he moved in China because he had to grab opportunities there had been working for a French retailer in Shanghai for 15 years mostly in IT but also in supply chain. He is more on the project director positions because on his time, they have many different projects including the maintaining of the distance of the existing IT systems and to cope up with the company in China. That is also the reason why they started to build a new applications and need to have a new infrastructure to support the new applications. His role is to manage these projects with the teams and that is his first experience in the company as an IT guy for 3 years. Their company has a worldwide HQ in France, and they want to converge different IT systems. They are also the company who acquires different retailers including Taiwan and that is also the reason why they set up different systems in different countries which has a very huge cause that’s why they decided to converge systems by region mainly in China, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

  2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?  
    He is good in road mapping because by the time he worked in China, they need to have a clear roadmap and that road map needs to be built to consider the situation and needs to assess the business needs of the company. That’s why road map is something that he needs for his job, and he is also good when it comes to managing projects. He also has 25 years of experience doing projects management related roles. When he worked in France, he starts to manage telecom projects and after that, he starts to have a more manager roles that just a project manager positions. In China, he also used to manage projects as well because at the end of the day, he needs to deliver the promised requirements to the internal clients if for example they developed an application for them. They need to manage their projects based on the suer requirements, have a good business analysis on what are their real needs and to understand what the needs are behind. They also need to select right technical solutions to cope with the whole IT systems which is very critical.

  3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements? 
    He has an opportunity to manage 2 EDI related project during his experience in China. They deal with the big suppliers and the way they worked before is not that efficient so that they started to work on the EDI projects where some SKU created by the supplier and sold in the supermarkets each time they had a new product, they need to create the item in the system again which is not efficient. So, the first project they did was to link the client’s system to their system so if they have a new SKU, the SKU will be sent to their system directly without creating again and that saves a lot of time for their buyers. Later, they also extend it to the orders to avoid creating orders again. They started an EDI platform which uses standard format and once it is standard in the market, then it will begin the communication in the system, recognize the 3rd party systems, and it is quite deployed in the market. The 2nd EDI project was more about the payment for the suppliers because sometimes they got paid for the product, they created for 90 days later. He rates his skills in EDI 3 out of 5 and for his skills in PM, he rates his skills 5 out of 5.
