Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
He has over one and a half years of experience in IT within the construction and finance industries and is currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program at USTC. Prior to pursuing his MBA, he worked in the construction industry. Starting in September 2020, he was employed by XXXX as a quantity surveyor, where his responsibilities included contracts management, project management, and collaboration with colleagues, suppliers, and subcontractors. He managed 20 to 30 subcontractors and suppliers, prepared payment certificates, and monitored the progress of contract execution. Later, he transitioned from the construction industry and gained internship experience. In February, he completed an internship with XXXX. There, he managed project demands from colleagues across various regions, reviewed regulations—including those from China and provisions similar to the EU AI Act—to ensure legal compliance and reduce risk. He also has project management experience at XXXX, a financial technology company that provides a platform for cryptocurrency exchange.
-
What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
He demonstrates strong analytical skills for solving problems, as shown during his internship at a major healthcare company. Despite having limited prior IT and software knowledge, his leader assigned him tasks that required him to seek guidance from experienced colleagues and utilize AI tools for coding references. For instance, while managing a Power BI report, he was tasked with changing a time filter from a public calendar to a financial one—adjusting the natural quarter to the fiscal quarter. When the AI-generated code did not work, he carefully examined the code to pinpoint and correct an error in the month calculations. When challenges arose that even AI could not resolve, he consulted an experienced IT professional to learn how to read and debug the code effectively.
-
Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
His experience includes using Power Automate to create flows that monitor changes in demand requests from the business department. In a previous internship at XXXX, he developed flows to track updates in demand details—such as ID, title, description, due date, and cost—and configured the system to send notification emails with information on which fields changed, along with their old and new values, for manual review. He has also worked with other software, including DMS Office and AutoCAD, to support engineering tasks like verifying construction details. Additionally, his hardware troubleshooting experience involved coordinating with IT support to resolve issues such as malfunctioning screens. Currently a student nearing graduation, he has completed several internships but is not available for full-time work.
