1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
She has been into Technical Writing for almost three years now and is currently working for XXXX where she is involved in both writing and illustrating for their product manuals mainly in home and living space; that includes fridge, air conditioner, faucets for watering, and stuff. Their main language in creating all their materials is English and uses different tools such as Dita oXygen XML for writing, Illustrator for illustrations/diagrams in the manuals, and GHub as their content management system. Before this, she was with XXXX Group also as a Technical Writer and has for XXXX where she was mainly involved with industry electric components such as switchers, electric cabinets mainly for factory and public transportation; she also created documentations there for mechanical and electronic products including user manuals, installation guides, replacement/maintenance instruction guides, and leaflets.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be technical writing since she has been doing this for more than 3 years now and wants to improve her skills in Dita writing as well; she’s very interested with oXygen XML writing and also sees herself improving with creating illustrations. Apart from that, she can create manuals from scratch including contents and illustration so she considers that as one of her strengths. Rates herself a 4.5 out of 5 in technical writing and leaves space for improvement.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
She has about 3+ years of experience in technical writing; knowledgeable with the standards and compliances, she frequently has to get in touch with their compliance teams and has knowledge of the different compliance in Europe, America, and Asia. She has strong hands-on experience working on electronics and consumer products, and anything related to engineering. Excellent with Adobe Suite especially Illustrator, also good with XML documentation, and has been involved with translation checks previously in Chinese, and also learning Spanish currently.
