1. Could you introduce yourself and tell us about you? Your current / recent jobs and employers? Previous companies and jobs?
She has about 5+ years of working experience now to which 4 years has been spent already within technical writing. She started with XXXX as a Document Control Specialist where she was responsible with translating Chinese user manuals into English version and when she got familiar with the products, she started translating from English to Chinese and vice versa as well. After that, she joined XXXX as a Technical Writer, they provide automated and intelligent testing products for medical industry; she was working with both Chinese and English documents back then and was doing user manuals, quick start guides for different products including micrograph scanner, full-automatic urinalysis system, and analysis type of software as well. Her last role was with XXXX as a Technical Writer where she was responsible for the design of user manuals, installation guides, based on different kinds of customers and scenarios. She worked there closely with developers, product managers, marketing teams, and design team as well; mainly for consumer-related products like portable power station, chargers, and big batteries for home appliances.
2. What skill(s) / experience would you self-describe as strongest or specialist in?
Strongest skill would be writing and learning about high-tech products and transfer them to a user-friendly content afterward. She enjoys crafting technical documentation and being able to help users improve their life or work thru those materials. On top of that, she’s good with making installation guides or user manuals standardized, look well-organized, and such.
3. Do you have the lists of key criteria’s according to the clients’ requirements?
She has more than 4 years of experience in technical writing and has been working for consumer products, home appliances-related products, and such so she will be okay working with the same for her next job; also good working with engineering products and machineries. She has great experience with Adobe InDesign in dealing with documentations and also has used Adobe Illustrator for handling some pictures or illustrations. Also has basic knowledge and experience with DITA or XML documentation in general but would be willing to learn more about it if needed.
